When I was crowned Miss Utah International, I was overcome with emotion; I was

so excited!  Honored to represent Utah. Excited to bring awareness to youth about

their ability to serve others. Reflecting on that crowning day, I grew tremendously through my association in the International Pageants System.  Through my experience speaking at many schools, races, and events, my confidence increased exponentially.

The Miss Utah International title gave me the unique opportunity to inspire youth to

make a difference, as well as support charitable events throughout the Salt Lake

Valley. I met many amazing people, from Special Olympics athletes to the founder of

the Days for Girls organization and breast cancer survivors. I became involved with

many different service organizations. The Miss Utah International Crown enabled me to make a difference in the lives of youth and instill a love for using their hands for good.

I also loved traveling to Florida and competing in the International Pageant. All the

contestants were talented and had invested time, money and energy in making a

difference promoting their platforms. It was fun to tour Jacksonville, participate in local events and learn about the city’s history. I really enjoyed the service projects and especially visiting the PACE center where my group taught modeling and pageant skills.

Even though I didn’t walk away with the Miss International crown, I couldn’t have

hoped for a more impactful experience with the Miss International system. I have

benefited greatly in increased confidence, new friends, a strong network of support,

and increased youth involvement in service.  I am grateful for the opportunity I had

to be Miss Utah International 2014.
